Frequently Asked Questions

What are your tutor's qualifications?

Our in-home tutors are typically, but not always, Teachers, University Graduates or Undergraduates. Many people ask us why we target University students for our in-home tutors. Sure a teacher can teach, but how good are they at learning? We believe that tuition should be about a more holistic learning approach.

While our in-home tutors specialise in specific subjects, they are all taught our proven learn it up system which has been developed with years of research and experience. This learning system is guaranteed to improve results faster. There has been a great deal of research into how humans learn, how to improve memory, how to set achievable goals and how to maintain confidence and motivation. Our tutors undertake regular training to ensure they are using the most up-to-date techniques to get the most out of study and tuition.

Has the tutor had good reviews in the past?

We are extremely proud of all of our in-home tutors, for both the results they achieve with each of their students and the feedback we receive. Do you follow the Australian Curriculum?

Our in-home tutors are tested and trained in the National State and IB Curriculums. In addition to this, it is important to understand even with the Australian Curriculum, schools are free to cover different topics at slightly different stages. Even different teachers, within the same school, expect that things are done their way.

We know it is important to ensure flexibility and tailor the techniques and teachings to suit the student and the way their teacher would like to see things done. Our in-home tutors review the curriculum and are provided with a wide range of worksheets and resources to specifically reinforce a variety of curriculum outcomes. Our in-home tutors are taught to adapt to the specific needs of each student.

How will the tutor know what areas my child needs help with?

Conventional tuition provides a band-aid style solution. We have been striving for years to ensure we do not fall into the same poor habits of other agencies. Tutors are able to assess students knowledge using our proprietary diagnostic assessments (learn more about them here).
