My name is Clement Chau and I'm currently a first year University of Melbourne student, undertaking the Bachelor of Science majoring in Computing and Software Systems. While I have not "officially" completed VCE and thus do not have an ATAR, I did complete my Foundation Studies in Trinity College as pathway to University of Melbourne, which is the Year 11-12 equivalent of VCE. Mainly, I am familar in topics such as Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, and Year 12 Physics. My final grade for Maths1, Maths2, and Physics is 96, 96, and 90 respectively which puts me in roughly top 5% of the cohort. While I did score an amazing grade in Year 12 Physics and still do roughly remember those concepts until now, as well as are still passionate for learning/understanding them, I would heavily favor teaching Mathematics since I have decided to continue my study in Mathematics instead of Physics. I have previous relevant both formal and non-formal tutoring experience. Mainly, I would like to only teach Mathematics since it is a field I am academically strong at and I am passionate about showing others how learning Mathematics can be a very fun thing to do. However, where other subjects are needed for tutoring, I also consider myself academically strong in Science subjects (Physics, Biology, Chemistry). I am committed in giving students the best tutoring experience as I understand that sometimes they just need to be exposed to ways in how studying can be made "fun" and "rewarding". I believe that every student should be given equal opportunity and adequate resources they need to succeed in their academic career, and the first step is to connect them with an understanding, experienced tutor.
